Nikki Diana Marquardt worked in the first crisis intervention centre in New York, studied Art History in Paris and Italy, worked as an assistant to Man Ray and his wife and opened her gallery on the historical Place des Vosges in 1986. In Paris she began her collaboration with Leo Castelli, working with the second generation New York School; Roy Linchtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg, James Rosenquist, Frank Stella as well as American minimalists Donald Judd, Dan Flavin and Carl Andre.
The sunny open space of 500m² is used regularly as a backdrop for films, events and fashion shows, product launches, press conferences, show rooms but also various shoots for advertising campaigns and motion pictures.
Galerie Nikki Diana Marquardt is a place where I come back over and over again due to the brilliant taste of the owner and friendly atmosphere of the gallery. Place des Vosges location is always a plus.
